Creators need to get paid, apps need sustainable businesses, and supporters need payments they can trust. We start with the people using the network, never the platform taking the biggest cut.
Our ethos
For twenty years, the people who made the social web created the value — and a handful of platforms kept the revenue. Atmosphere Money exists to close that gap: a shared payment layer for the Atmosphere — the open social web where one account moves across many apps — built so creators, supporters, and the apps between them all come out ahead.
For too long, the people who make the social web produced what was worth paying for — and rarely shared in it. Atmosphere Money exists to change that.
For two decades the deal was the same. Creators, communities, and the apps serving them produced everything worth paying for — and a small number of platforms captured most of what it earned. The economic engine and the people powering it sat on opposite sides of an enormous wall.
The Atmosphere is a chance at a more honest deal. Your account, your audience, and your reputation already move across apps. Money should move just as freely — simple for supporters, clear for creators, and genuinely useful to the apps building what comes next.
That is the whole job: a shared payment layer for Atmosphere apps, and one place for creators to manage getting paid — support, subscriptions, products, fees, payouts, receipts, and history. Not another wall. A floor everyone can build on.
Not features — commitments. Every decision about how money moves through the Atmosphere gets checked against these.
Creators need to get paid, apps need sustainable businesses, and supporters need payments they can trust. We start with the people using the network, never the platform taking the biggest cut.
A creator shouldn't rebuild their payment setup for every new app. One payment layer, shared across the Atmosphere; one place to manage getting paid, wherever supporters find you — and a payment history you can keep on the account you own.
Supporters should see what they paid. Creators should see what they keep. Apps should earn fees for real value — out in the open, never hidden from the people the money flows between.
What you earn, who supports you, and what you buy are yours. We keep buyer details, messages, and sensitive records off the public record — only what proves a payment happened is ever public.
Payments touch real livelihoods, so reliability isn't a feature — it's the baseline. Every payment is traceable, every payout accountable, nothing faked, duplicated, or quietly dropped.
We start with checkout and payouts that simply work. Over time, more control — and more of the money itself — moves toward members and the communities they belong to.
Trust is easier to state as refusals. These are commitments by omission — things ATM will not do, by design.
