The roadmap

Where Atmosphere Money is going.

We start with reliable payments for apps and creators — then move, step by step, toward open rules anyone can check, money that travels with you, and a payment layer the network owns together. Payments have to work before they can become more open, so the path is deliberate — and future stops are clearly marked as future, not shipped.

The journey

One direction: toward user-owned money.

Phase 01Live now

Reliable payments, with receipts that travel.

The shared checkout, subscriptions, products, tickets, payouts, and app fees for Atmosphere apps — with Supper as the first app using it in practice. One creator setup works across apps, and every payment leaves an open receipt that can be checked independently and can't be quietly rewritten.

Phase 02Coming soon

More apps on one money layer.

More Atmosphere apps plug into ATM, so creators reuse one payment setup across more places and apps sell products, memberships, tickets, and services without rebuilding payments each time. Your audience and history follow the account you own — not one app's walls.

Phase 03Coming soon

Money that travels with you.

atcash is ATM's consumer app — the everyday way for anyone in the Atmosphere to hold and move their own money. Pay any person by their @handle (not just creators or apps), hold a balance, and spend it across apps with lower fees than a card — and take it out whenever you want. The balance is yours, and it follows you.

Phase 04Coming soon

Payments built for machines and agents.

Some payments aren't a person at a checkout — they're software. ATM is building rails for machine-speed payments: paying for infrastructure as it's used, streaming payments that run continuously, and autonomous agents that pay for what they need — all on the same ledger and receipts as everything else.

Phase 05Future

Payments that run on open rules, not on trust.

More of how a payment works — a recurring contribution, an app paying out a fee it owes, a service charging for exactly what it used — moves onto clear, shared rules anyone can check, with less of any single company in the middle. ATM stays the honest record-keeper. We'll ship each step carefully, only where it's safe and clear.

Phase 06Future

Value that reaches more of the people who keep the network running.

A payment relies on more than a creator and a supporter — the apps people use, the hosting that keeps accounts online, and the moderation and shared services that keep the open social web running. The aim is to let value reach more of them, without ever changing what a supporter actually paid.

Phase 07Future

A value layer the network owns together.

The furthest stop: a payment layer the network owns in common, built to sustain itself so it can stay low-cost and open and help fund the shared tools everyone relies on. This is about the health of the network — it is not an investment, it doesn't promise anyone a financial return, and holding a balance is just holding your money.

We'll ship each future piece only when it's genuinely ready for real money — and nothing here promises anyone a financial return.

Events in the Atmosphere

Tickets, on the same money layer.

Already part of the journey: selling for an event is just another way to get paid. ATM Tickets adds inventory, holds, issuance, delivery, and check-in — on the very same payments layer, with its own home for organizers and attendees.
